In 1985 Arnold stated six problems aimed to outline the future development of the global bifurcation theory in the plane. These problems are now solved. The talk will survey the results obtained in collaboration with N. Goncharuk, Yu. Kudryashov, I. Schurov, N. Solodovnikov, L. Starichkova, and the new problems stated.
