The space of Lagrangian self-shrinking surfaces of mean curvature flow in the complex plane
Thursday, October 6, 2016 - 4:00pm
Malott 532
Mean curvature flow is the gradient flow of the area functional, and the self-shrinking solutions are important to studying the singularity of the flow. Lagrangian surfaces remain Lagrangian along the flow. We will discuss rigidity, compactness, and finite quantization of entropy for the space of self-shrinking Lagrangian surfaces. This is joint work with John Ma.
Refreshments will be served at 3:30 PM.
