This talk will discuss problems related to random permutations and random subdivisions. The first part will focus on size-biased permutations, which have applications to statistical sampling. Then we will investigate random subdivisions obtained from projections of polytopes. These are related to random polytopes and zeros of random tropical polynomials.
Refreshments will be served at 3:30 PM.
