Repeated differentiation evens out spacings of zeros

A function is selected at random so that its zeros form a unit intensity point process on the real line. We show that iterated differentiation causes the zeros of this function to approach a lattice, that is, to become equally spaced. This is joint work with my former student, Sneha Subramanian.
