Lower bounds on Lyapunov exponents for linear PDEs driven by random velocity

Monday, November 11, 2024 - 4:00pm

We will discuss the Lyapunov exponent for linear PDEs driven by random velocity and provide its lower bound. We focus on two important models: passive scalar advection and linearized stochastic Naiver-Stokes equation. We will describe two turbulent properties of fluid: mixing and chaos. This talk is based on joint work with Marin Hairer, Sam Punshon-Smith, and Tommaso Rosati.
