Flow polytopes are beautiful geometric objects that encode the different ways material can move through a transportation network. Flow polytopes for certain types of transportation networks have particularly nice volumes and geometric structure. In this talk, we will take a tour through the world of flow polytopes, starting with the basics for those who have never heard of them and ending by highlighting several recent results by faculty and students at the University of Kentucky.
Refreshments will be served at 3:30 PM.
